Neutering for Dogs

We offer both castration (male dogs) and spaying (female dogs).

Neutering can help prevent certain cancers, avoid unplanned litters and potentially reduce some unwanted behaviours such as roaming, marking, and aggression. The timing of neutering in dogs can vary depending on breed and size — we’ll guide you on the most suitable plan for your pet.

Neutering for Cats

Cats are often neutered from a young age to prevent unplanned litters and reduce behaviours such as spraying, fighting and roaming.

Neutering can also help prevent certain cancers. Both male and female cats can benefit from the procedure, particularly if they have outdoor access.

Neutering for Rabbits & Guinea Pigs

We also neuter small mammals, including rabbits and guinea pigs. These procedures require specific anaesthetic protocols and gentle handling, both of which our team is experienced in providing.

We are proud to offer keyhole (laparoscopic) spay surgery, a minimally invasive alternative to traditional spaying.

  • Reduced pain and discomfort
  • Faster recovery times

Our experienced veterinary team perform this advanced procedure in-house, so there is no need to refer your pet to another practice or involve an external vet.

What to Expect

A simple four-stage journey from booking to recovery.

1

Pre-op Consultation

We’ll talk you through the procedure, answer any questions and examine your pet to make sure they are healthy for the surgery.

2

Fasting: No Food After Midnight

Please make sure your pet does not eat after midnight the night before surgery. Water is fine until you leave home.

*different rules apply to puppies, kittens and exotics- we will guide you through that

3

The Day of Surgery

Drop your pet off in the morning. A vet or nurse will admit them and ask you to sign a consent form. We’ll perform the procedure in our in-house theatre and call you as soon as they’re awake.

4

Aftercare

We send post-op instructions home with you and arrange follow-up checks to make sure recovery is on track.
